ヒト完全長cDNAクローンからGatewayエントリークローンを作製し、ヒトタンパク質発現リソースを構築しています。

現在、ヒト遺伝子の約80%をカバーするリソースが整備されており、種々のタンパク質発現クローンの作製をハイスループットに行うことが出来ます。 また、新たな発現ベクターを開発することにより、タンパク質発現の応用範囲を拡大しています。

例えば、タンパク質相互作用の検証のために、スプリット蛍光タンパク質を融合した発現ベクターを使用しています。

更に、網羅的なヒトタンパク質発現リソースを利用して、ハイスループットタンパク質発現技術を開発し、ポストゲノム研究に活用しています。ヒトタンパク質を網羅的にインビトロで発現したヒトタンパク質のカタログとも言うべきインビトロプロテオームを活用し、創薬スクリーニング、有用抗体作製、臨床診断などに利用しています。

また、iPS細胞誘導など細胞システム制御にヒトタンパク質発現リソースを活用しています。

今後、世界的に見て他に例を見ない網羅的に集積したヒトcDNAのリソースの活用、プロテームワイドなタンパク質発現技術を利用し、基礎研究から産業利用まで幅広く活用して行きたいと考えています。
